Correcting the orientation of the edge pieces

After the completion of the previous step you probably have placed all the edge pieces to their correct locations. Now it’s the time to orienting them correctly. That means we have to put them correctly aligning with their center middle pieces.

In this step there are three probable scenarios.

1.      All the four edges are oriented correctly.

2.      All the four edges are oriented wrongly.

3.      Two edges are oriented wrongly.

If you are in scenario 1 (all the edges are oriented correctly) we can go to the final part. For scenario 2 and 3 here is the solution which will orient them correctly.

All the four edges are oriented correctly

Have a look at the images given above. In the second and third pictures we have to orient the edges correctly. For this hold the rubik's cube as it appears in the pictures. Consider green as your front side. To change an edge piece up side down here is a easy solution. Always keep the edge piece on your right side, which you want to turn upside down. In this instance we are going to turn the pink / yellow edge piece first. We are taking the third image for this illustration.

At the end of this move you can notice the pink /yellow piece turn backwards. Now the top layer will appear like the picture given below.

Now holding the cube the same way, just rotate the top layer only so that the green / Yellow piece which we wanted to solve come to the right side. It will be appear like this.

Now do the same move again.

At the end this move you will get the top layer's all the edges solved. After that just rotate the top layer only so that the top layers edge pieces align correctly with thier middle center pieces. Now you will most probably have the cube's all the edges solved like in image-1above.

Important note

when you are moving a middle row or column, you in fact must move two columns or rows, and then turn the non-middle one back to it's previous spot. This is because the middle rows or columns do not move independently. Don't forget to move the other row or column back!
